About Valencia

Valencia is the third largest and populated city in Spain (around one million inhabitants) and its location on the Mediterranean coast is one of the major domestic and international tourist destinations. Valencia is known for its beaches, beautiful promenades, its mild and sunny weather and fascinating architecture. Especially the Lonja de la Seda is the most famous of its monuments and was declared a World Heritage Site in 1996. In addition, Valencia is home of the modern City of Arts and Sciences, a futuristic architectural complex that combines five buildings dedicated to scientific and cultural divulgence.

Location

The camp in Valencia is located in the university area, just a few minutes walk away from the beach and it is easily accessible from the historic city center.

  • 40% international students and 60% Spanish students
  • 100% supervised by adults
  • Capacity of the camp: 150 students

Facilities

The camp has an Internet room, a TV and video room, a music room, a games room and a conference room. Classes are held in a nearby building.

The rooms are for 3 students, each room is equipped with bathrooms. All of the rooms are exterior and almost all have balconies. There is free Wi-Fi in every bedroom and air conditioning.

Classes

The Spanish and English classes in the camp of Valencia take place in the mornings, from Monday to Friday and consist of 4 daily lessons of 45 minutes each. The maximum number of students per class is 14, although the average is usually around 9.

The first day of class, students will take a level test to be put in the right group corresponding to their level. There are 7 different levels from beginner to advanced. At the end of the program and after completion of the course, students receive a certificate together with a progress report.

The teachers of the camp are carefully selected. All of them are bilingual (some native) and have qualifications to teach English and Spanish, and have the CAP (teaching certificate).

The courses are designed to be sufficiently entertaining and funny, so the students are fully motivated to study and at the same time they make the best of their stay. The classes cover all aspects of language learning: grammar, vocabulary, conversation, pronunciation and writing and speaking.

The educational material used in classes is designed for each age group and for each level. It is given to each student on the first day of class. During the course additional materials will be provided to support them and facilitate understanding.
